Syria - German friendship association statement on ME developments

The chairman of the Syrian-German friendship Association, Olaf Fieldman, has stressed the importance of the Syrian role in the Middle East region, highlighting the great achievements so far on all levels.

For his part, the famous German journalist of the Middle East affairs, Olrisch Kinicle, criticized the American accusations against Syria and Iran.

He also warned against the danger of generalizing the American policy -- he who is with American's policy is a friend and who opposes this policy is the enemy of the U.S -- calling for getting rid of this policy and indicating that the planning of the American-British war on Iraq following the September 11 events was prepared for by the American media.

On the other hand, he pointed out to the American administration that has lost its credibility due to fake pretexts for the war against Iraq asserting that this war aims at the imposition of hegemony on the strategic areas which connect the three contents Europe, Asia and Africa.
