Final statement of Tehran's Organization of Islamic Conference

Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC) Foreign Ministers have concluded their deliberations in Tehran. The conference's final statement stressed the importance of the establishment of the Palestinian state and implementing all UN resolutions regarding this issue.

They also asserted their political, financial and moral support to the Palestinian people in order to restore their national rights.

The conference condemned the Israeli expansionist policy stressing the necessity for an effective action to put an end to Israeli practices which violate international resolutions.

The conference also praised Lebanese steadfastness and resistance expressing hope at liberating all Lebanese occupied territories.

It condemned Israeli rejection to commit itself to the Security Council resolution 497 for the year 1981, and its occupation to the Golan, calling for complete Israeli withdrawal from the Golan to the line of June 4th 1967.

It also called for boycotting Israel denouncing the American accusations directed against member states of the OIC, particularly those accusations against Syria.

It welcomed the Syrian initiative presented to the UN Security Council concerning making the region of the Middle East free of mass destruction weapons.

Participants condemned Israel's stance which seeks to develop nuclear weapons while it refuses to subjugate its nuclear sites to the inspection of the Atomic Energy Agency.

The conference denounced the unilateralism and attempts of to impose economic sanctions on member states.

It stressed the necessity for developing and boosting economic and trade relations of cooperation in the interest of humanity.

It concluded by asserting the necessity for combating all forms of occupation and for deepening the concept of cultural and civilizational unity.
