With escalation of operations against occupation, Western fears of resistance groups arriving in Iraq

The Anglo- American forces in Iraq yesterday announced that foreign groups described as extremists were able to enter the Iraqi territories to carry out "destructive acts" in order to destabilize security and stability.

In an appeal addressed to the people of Iraq, the coalition forces radio said that extremists under a foreign leadership entered Iraq with bad intention, stressing that "it is in the interest of the people of Iraq to help the coalition forces to identify those extremists and their location."

The radio underlined the importance of behaving cautiously and to help in eliminate those foreigners before they carry out destructive operations. Earlier, the American leadership said that one American soldier was killed in an attack that took place on Thursday in Iraq. A statement by the leadership said that the soldier was killed by bullets when he was moving at a main supply line in Iraq, without giving further details or the place of the attack.

An American military official said on Thursday that additional forces will be sent to the western part of the country to continue the war against the resistance pockets in that area.

The attacks against the American forces witnessed an escalation in the last few days concentrated in particular in Baghdad and al-Falouja and resulted in killing 8 Americans, including four whose helicopters was downed.

Meantime, the American central leadership said on Thursday that the American army will give an award of 25,000 dollars for arresting a suspect who committed mass killings in Iraq and he was released mistakenly from a detention center in the port of Um al-Qasr.

In a statement, the central leader said that Muhammad Jawad al-Nofous, is suspected of being involved in killing thousands of Iraqi Shiite whose remains were found in a mass grave in Mahaweel to the south of Iraq after toppling Saddam Hussein in April. The statement added that al-Nofous was arrested on April 26 and was released on May 18.
