OIC foreign ministers conference opened yesterday in Tehran

Iranian President Mohammed Khatami opened in Tehran yesterday the meetings of the 30th session of the Islamic Foreign Ministers of the member states at the Islamic Organization Conference.

Khatami stressed that the Palestinian issue is the most important issues asserting the necessity for supporting the Palestinian people and enabling them to establish their independent state, restore all their legitimate rights and support their resistance against the "Israeli organized terrorism."

The Iranian president affirmed the Iraqi people's right to exercise their right of self-determination. For their part, the participants condemned the Israeli brutal crimes against the Palestinian people and Israeli violation of the international law stressing the necessity for finding the practical solution for the Iraqi issue.

For his part the Arab League Secretary General Amr Moussa, who is participating in the conference, stressed that all Arab states reject the Israeli brutal practices against the Palestinian people calling for ending occupying Iraq and establishing the Iraqi independent state.

For his part also, Iranian Foreign Minister Kamal Kharazi stressed the necessity for facing all standing challenges.

He underlined that the Israeli nuclear arsenal and weapons of mass destruction are the real threat endangering the international peace and security stressing the necessity for making the Middle East free zone of weapons of mass destruction.
