Palestinian killed by Irsael; Palestinians destroy Israeli vehicle

The young Palestinian Muhammad Baseem Mahmoud was killed yesterday morning and another one strongly wounded by the fire of the Israeli occupation forces which targeted Toulkarem camp, where the Israeli forces impose curfew and carry out detention and breaking in operations.
Meantime, one Israeli soldier was wounded in the confrontation that took place between the Palestinians and the occupation forces which incurred in Jenin city and launched a large scale mopping up operations in the surrounding villages.
While Palestinian resistance men fired "Qassam" shells at Sedirout settlement, a large explosive went off yesterday under an Israeli armored vehicle near Nahal Auz settlement to the East of Gaza and this resulted in destroying large part of it.
Israeli sources said that a large scale mopping up operation started in the area during which more than 10 Palestinians were arrested and many others from al-Khalil, Qabateyah, and Toulkarem, while the Israeli forces demolished the house of the Palestinian "martyr" Shadi Battat in al-Zahereyah town to the south of Hebron and two mortars fell at Ghoushe Katif settlement in Gaza.
Meantime, diplomatic sources said that Israeli soldiers opened fire at diplomatic procession at Eres barrier in Gaza on Monday evening, noting that the diplomats were astonished over the incident and that the process included representatives for Switzerland, Britain, Greece, Sweden and Austria.
Meantime the Israeli defense minister Shaoul Mofaz prevented four officials of the Labor Party from heading yesterday to Ramullah to meet with the Palestinian prime minister Mahmoud Abbas.
A Palestinian source said that this measure was taken because of the failure of the occupation forces in ensuring the security of the Israelis in Ramullah.
Meanwhile, the sources stressed that the Israeli prime minister Ariel Sharon decided to postpone the meeting in Jerusalem today with Mahmoud Abbas to discuss means of implementing the Roadmap.
On the other hand, the French foreign minister Dominique de Villepin called on Israel to halt its military operations against the Palestinians and to withdraw from the occupied Palestinian territories, freeze the settlement and release the detained Palestinians.
The Monte Carlo radio quoted De Villepin as saying during his visit to the Palestinian al-Am'ari camp near Ramullah that the Roadmap revives the hopes to establishing an independent Palestinian state noting the sufferings of the Palestinians under the Israeli occupation.
