Some 14 persons were killed in West Algeria by Islamists

The Algerian security departments announced that 14 persons from one family were killed on Monday evening at the hands of armed Islamists in al-Shalaf area. An armed group killed two fathers and their wives and their children aging between one and a half years and 17 years by bullets.
This new massacre, however coincides with another massacre that claimed the lives of 8 persons in the same area. It is known that the armed Islamist group, chaired by Rasheed Abu Turab is the bloodiest of the armed Algerian movements, which is active in al-Shalaf area and calls for the foundation of an Islamic republic in Algeria.
The Islamic group for al-Dawa and al-Salafeyah ( the call and predestination) led by Hassan Hattab, rival to Abu Turab and active and East Algeria and al-Qabael area ( east Algeria ) stresses it only targets the security forces and the army.
Meantime, two persons were killed on Saturday evening at a fake check point installed by armed Islamists in Wad al-Areesh near al-Madeya ( 80 Km to the south of Algiers ), according to the Algerian dailies on Monday.
Since the beginning of May, some 88 persons were killed in Algeria in acts of violence, attributed to armed groups, according to figures of official sources and press reports. According to the same source 500 persons were killed since the beginning of the year.
