Al-Assad confers with the British delegation

Syria's President Bashar al-Assad received yesterdaythe delegation of the British- Syrian Association of the British Parliament members joining representatives from the Labor, Conservatives and Democrats parties. Talks during the meeting dealt with the Syrian British relations and the positive impact of president's visit to Britain on the continuity of this relation.
Talks dealt also with the Iraqi position where president Assad made it clear that any coming government should reflect the multiplicity and richness of the social aspect in Iraq. President stressed that Syria was and will always be with the Iraqi people's interests.
Concerning the Roadmap, al- Assad underlined that Syria will not interfere with what the Palestinians decide. But Syria always asserts that just and comprehensive peace is the only one which achieves stability and security in the region, he added.
For their part, the delegation's members stressed that Syria has a vital role in the Middle East expressing their country's wish and the European Union's wish to help Syria in the administrational and technical development.
