Well-informed sources said that the director of the London- based al-Hayat daily office in Damascus Ibrahim al-Hamidi was released yesterday five months after his detention. al-Hamidi was arrested after he had published a news in al-Hayat on Syrian preparations to accommodate refugees at the Iraqi- Syrian borders in December 2002. A matter which Damascus had denied then.
