Egypt is holding contacts with all those concerned with Iraq
Egypt-Iraq, Politics, 5/24/2003

"Egypt is currently holding calm and intensive talks with the different parties concerned with Iraq," Egypt's Political Presidential Adviser said Friday.

In press reports Osama Al Baz added that Egypt is keen to see as soon as possible an Iraqi government formed and installed.

The situation in Iraq is very dangerous and critical, he said, adding the US and Britain in Iraq are two occupation powers and were not administrative or sovereign ones.

The situation in Iraq is temporary for things cannot go on like this forever. An Iraqi national authority should be found to run the Iraqi affairs.

Iraq is at present suffering from many problems and Americans and Britons must find the best way by which an Iraqi power can come to assume its duty.

"The UN role is of importance and the international organisation can play a more critical role there and this UN role can ease the borden on all parties including the US and Britain," he said.
