Independent Egyptian national council for human rights draft law Wednesday

The Egyptian cabinet in its meeting under Prime Minister Atef Ebeid will review next Wednesday the draft law of National Council for Human Rights in the light of President Hosni Mubarak directives in preparation for submitting it to the People's Assembly during its current session.

Meanwhile, Ministry of Justice started to prepare the draft law final formula. A judicial source said that the draft stipulates that the counci1 will have a legal entity independent in practicing its missions. The council comprises twenty members from public figures who will be appointed for three-year term by a presidential decree.

The council will prepare a national plane to develop human rights policies of society and its constitutional organizations. The council will also receive complaints about human rights.
