New Syrian TV station open in the north

Syria's Information Minister Adnan Omran opened on Wednesday a radio and TV station in the Raqqa governorate.

Following the opening ceremony the Information Minister toured the station where he viewed the advanced technical equipment in the station.

Omran stressed the importance of the TV centers which were opened throughout the country which come within a comprehensive plan and strategy to modernize and develop media and TV and convey the intellectual, cultural and political discourse in a way that serve citizens within the framework of the government's comprehensive plan of modernization and development under the leadership of President Bashar al-Assad.

Omran met the governorate's media professional with the attendance of secretary of the governorate's party branch, chairman of the party cultural bureau and director-general of the Radio TV General Corporation.

During the meeting Omran talked about the particularity which the Raqqa governorate enjoys in all aspects, and for the archaeological and tourist sites and the importance given by the government to the governorate.

Omran stressed the necessity of improving media work up the needed level and responsibilities in a way that serves the process of development which Syria is witnessing.
