Palestine-Israel, Military, 5/22/2003

American sources said that the postponed meeting between the US President George W. Bush and the Israeli prime minister Ariel Sharon will be held next week, while Israeli sources noted that the Palestinian prime minister Mahmoud Abbas ( Abu Mazin ) accepted Bush's invitation to visit Washington within the few coming days.

The Israeli daily Haartez said the American administration seeks to convene the meeting between Bush and Sharon next week while Israeli sources talked that such a meeting will not be held before mid June.

Meantime, Palestinian security sources said that two Palestinians were killed yesterday by the bullets of the Israeli soldiers in Ramullah. Rasmeyah Arar ( 35 year old) and her brother Ramez Arar ( 20 year old) were killed during confrontations between Israeli soldiers and young Palestinians who were throwing stones at the soldiers in Qarawa Bani Zeid, near Salfeit to the north of Ramullah.

In a statement, the Israeli army said it demolished on Tuesday evening two houses for the families of two Palestinian activists in Nablus.
