Indications of Economic and Social performance: 3.1% the real growing rate

Egypt's Ministry of Planning edited a report with the economic and socialistic indications during the first half of 2002-2003 plans till the end of Dec. last year.

Othman Mohammed Othman, Minister of Planning stated that real growing rates during the first half of Fiscal year reached 3.1% and the total of the local production was 203 milliards at the same period. The average of human income was 5880 pounds.

The indication reported that the Population Rates reached 67 Million and 313,000 last December and the normal increase decreased to 1.99% opposite to 2.04% in 2001. Rate of employment for people over 15-year-old about 20Million and 167,000 people .The number of employees 18 Million and 179,000 people. So the number of idles was about 1Million and 997,000 people.

The total implemented investment during the first year of the last fiscal year about 25Milliards and 100 Million pounds; the government executed 7.8 Milliards and economic organizations 2 Milliards for the total investments reached 9.8 Milliards as a percent of 34% opposite 14 Milliards for the Private Sector and 1.3 for the Public Labors Sector.

The implemented investment during the first half included 445.3 Million pounds for Local Development and its associations as a percent of 30% from the licensed investments and 25.5 Million pounds for the unplanned areas as a percent of 30.1% from the licensed budget and 119 Million pounds for the Urgent Plan as a percent of 23.8% from the licensed budget and 22.8% Million pounds in the industrial areas as a percent of 38.3% from the licensed investments
