Al-Ahram: Austria president condemns attempts to link Islam to terrorism

Austrian President,Thomas Klestil has condemned on Monday attempts of connect Islam with terrorism stressing that Islam calls for justice, equality and rejects aggression and occupying of other lands by force.
In a statement issued by the Egyptian Al-Ahram newspaper, Klestil called for establishing an organization including the Arab and European countries similar to the European security and cooperation organization to make Arab and Islamic countries be closer to the European countries in order to explain the Arab and Islamic issues. He stressed the firm relations between Austria and Arab countries.
The Austrian president added that the current situation in the region necessities moves for finding the necessity for creating a higher degree of understanding among Arab world and Europe.
