Al-Bashir meets with Syrian premier

Sudanese President Omar Hassan al-Bashir received in Khartoum on Sunday Prime Minister Mohammed Mustafa Miro and an accompanying delegation.
Talks during the meeting dealt with the latest developments in the region and the bilateral relations between the two states and means of enhancing them in all domains.
President al-Bashir stressed Sudan's support to Syria's steadfastness in facing the current challenges as well as its exerted efforts for making the Middle East free zone of weapons of mass destruction including the Israeli nuclear and chemical arsenal.
He also called for supporting Syria's stance towards realizing just and comprehensive peace in the region based on the international legitimacy resolutions and Madrid terms of reference that stipulate the Israeli complete withdrawal of the occupied Arab lands to the lines of June 4 1967 and for enabling the Palestinian people to establish their independent state with Jerusalem as its capital.
For his part Miro asserted Syria's support to the unity and territorial integrity of Sudan.
Prime Minister Miro chaired the Syrian side at the meetings of the 3rd session of the Syrian-Sudanese Higher Committee.
In the same context the Sudanese Minister of State at the Sudanese Foreign Ministry Shoul Deenq described the meetings of the Syrian-Sudanese Higher Committee as the most active and fruitful joint committee in the fields of politics, culture and economy.
