King Mohammed calls for stronger inter-Islamic cooperation, solidarity
Morocco-Regional, Politics, 5/15/2003
Morocco's King Mohammed VI has called on Islamic Ummah (Nation) to make prevail the principles of inter-Islamic cooperation and solidarity.
This came in a message of congratulations the king sent to Muslim World leaders on the occasion of Prophet Mohammed Birthday, marked this Wednesday in Morocco. The Royal message carried best wishes of more progress and grandeur to Islamic countries. "The celebration of the birth of our sublime Prophet, Mohammed, Peace and Blessings be upon him, is, for us, a privileged moment to review the genesis of the Islamic Ummah," says King Mohammed VI, adding that the Islamic Ummah has been attached, since the very beginning, to building a unified community, propagating the values of justice, equality and brotherhood among peoples.
It is by giving shape to these ideals that the Islamic nation would be able, as it has been in the past, to contribute fully to the construction of human civilization, while staying open onto other cultures and nations, and interacting with them in peace, tolerance and concord, said the king. King Mohammed VI renewed Morocco's constant backing to the brotherly Palestinian people to establish their own independent state on their liberated land with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as capital, ensuring, by the same, peace and security for all peoples of the Middle East. The king prayed God the Almighty to enable the Islamic Ummah ensure its protection, sovereignty and dignity and achieve its development so that it can take up the challenges it faces in a delicate international juncture.
