Khatami's press conference in Beirut

Iranian President, Mohammed Khatami stressed yesterday that the Iranian relations with Syria and Lebanon are good stressing the necessity for developing them in fields of economy and trade.
In a press conference Khatami pointed out that the Israeli continued occupation of the Arab lands makes the resistance of the occupation a natural duty.
He called on the American forces to withdraw from Iraq stressing the importance of maintaining Iraq's unity and integrity and forming a government representing the will of the Iraqi people.
Khatami said that "we agree on any project that restores the Palestinian people right for establishment of the Palestinian independent state."
