The 15th Islamic conference condemns Anglo-American occupation of Iraq

The 15th Conference of the Supreme Council of the Islamic Affairs condemned on Monday the Anglo-American occupation of Iraq.
In the final communique, the participants urged the US and Britain to abide by the UN Charter and pull out as quickly as possible and allow Iraqis to form their own government.
The conference called for allowing the UN to take part in post-war Iraq, underlining the importance of preserving sovereignty of Iraq and integrity of its lands.
The communique urged Britain and the US to re-construct Iraq by their own money and not to totally depend on Iraq's oil revenues.
The conference urged the Islamic and Arab countries to back the Palestinian Intifada until the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital.
The conference urged forming a federation among Islamic and Arab states.
The conference called for unifying legislations among Islamic and Arab countries in accordance with the principles of the Islamic Sharia.
The communique underlined the importance of abiding by the principles of democracy, holding honest elections and encouraging partisan multiplicity.
The conference called for activating the role of the Arab League and the Organisation of Islamic Conference (OIC) and amending their charters to cope with the current changes.
The conference called for settling disputes among Islamic and Arab countries in peaceful ways and setting up an Arab court of justice.
The conference called for activating the joint defence agreement signed among Arab states in 1950 in order to be able to defend any country that can come under attack.
The conference also called for forming a military force of the Islamic countries.
The conference called for laying down economic policies for the Arab and Islamic countries in a way that can help achieve more integration among them.
The conference underlined the importance of activating economic cooperation agreements signed between Arab states, especially the agreement of the Arab common market.
The conference called for backing the air and naval transport fleet among Islamic and Arab countries.
The conference urged encouraging the role of the private sector in the tourism and service fields and setting up financial institutions capable of funding tourism and service projects.
The final communique urged enhancing coopertion between the universities and the research centers in the Islamic countries in a way to present a true image of Islam.
