Syrians- French cultural cooperation

Syrian Minister of Culture Najwa Qassab Hassan received in Damascus yesterday Chairman of the Syrian- French Friendship Association and Member of the French cabinet Philip Marini.

Talks during the meeting dealt with the standing bilateral relations between the two countries and ways of developing these relations in various fields.

The two sides discussed the issue of exchanging expertise between Syria and France.

They also discussed the role of the French archeological mission excavating the historical sites in Syria.

Marini expressed appreciations over the importance of the Icons Exhibition that is currently being held at the Arab World Institution in Paris in the framework of cooperation between the two ministers of culture in the two countries.

Marini was also received yesterday by Minister of Economy and Foreign Trade Ghassan Rifaee.

During the meeting Rifaee stressed the importance of developing the standing friendly relations and cooperation between Syria, France, and the European Union in the economic and trade fields.

The minister indicated his ministry's interest in training the banking professionals, and to modernize the function of banking.
