Moroccan political leader insists on international legality in Iraq construction
Iraq, Politics, 5/12/2003

First secretary of the Socialist Union of Popular Forces (USFP), Abderrahmane Youssoufi, called on Friday the International Socialist to endeavor for the respect of international legality -embodied by the UNO and the security council- in Iraq's reconstruction process

Youssoufi, a former prime minister, called participants in the Mediterranean committee of the international socialist -a body that groups socialist parties from the world, to speak out clearly their attachment to Iraq's unity, security and territorial integrity and the necessity to give back to Iraqis their wealth.

Youssoufi, in his capacity as co-chairman of the international socialist, said war against Iraq was and still is illegal and immoral. He also expressed sadness at the tragic developments of this war, with its trail of house demolitions, looting of historical legacy, profanation of sacred sites, without sparing even hospitals, schools, libraries and museums as the coalition forces watched in indifference.

Youssoufi also commended the mobilization of the Mediterranean peoples against war in Iraq and the clear indication they gave to their adherence to peaceful co-existence.
