Algerian prisoners rebel in Tazoult jail

A rebellion took place yesterday in Tazoult prison near Batna city to the East of the Algerian capital Algiers.
The Algerian News agency said that prisoners rebelled because the amnesty issued by the Algerian President Abdul Aziz Butaflika by the beginning of the week on the occasion of "Prophet Muhammad Birthday" and governed 5,000 prisoners, did not include them.
The agency explained that the prisoners went up to the roof of the prison, while the Algerian civilian authorities and the prisons authorities started contacts with the prisoners in an attempt to restore back calm to the prison.
The agency added the police sent reinforcements to this prison which is situated, 10 Km from the city of Batna.
