King Mohammed wants Moroccan diplomacy to highlight solidarity, humanitarian values, official

Morocco's King Mohammed VI sees to it that the Moroccan diplomacy embodies solidarity and humanitarian values for an efficient contribution to defending South countries' development issues.
The statement was made by Taieb Fassi Fihri, delegate minister of foreign affairs and cooperation, while launching a day to celebrate the Moroccan diplomacy.
The official praised King Mohammed VI's endeavors to shore up Morocco's excellent stand on the international scene, preserve the country's territorial integrity (É) and defend the values of Islam.
It is thanks to these efforts that Morocco was enthrusted the chairmanship of the Group of 77 (G-77) plus China, Fassi Fihri said, stressing that the sovereign's action to enhance and expand Morocco's political, economic and cultural relations on regional and international scenes.
Aware of the fast changes in the world, Morocco is ceaselessly endeavoring to enhance political dialogue and develop economic exchanges with Arab partners, he said, citing in this connection the Agadir Declaration, signed, upon King Mohammed VI's initiative, between Morocco, Jordan, Tunisia and Egypt.
Regarding the Palestinian issue, Morocco has always called for talks to reach a final settlement to the Arab-Israeli conflict, put an end to the sufferings of the Palestinian people and enable them establish an independent state, with Al-Quds as capital, in accordance with international resolutions and the "land for peace" principle, Fassi Fihri said.
In Africa, the official recalled the king's decision to cancel the debt least developed countries in Africa owe to Morocco and the elimination of custom barriers on their exports to the Kingdom.
He further highlighted King Mohammed VI's successful mediation to appease tension and conflicts in the continent, especially the reconciliation and reactivation of the union of Mano River countries and the participation of the Moroccan army in peacekeeping forces in Congo.
As to the Mediterranean space, Fassi Fihri called for drawing benefit from common religious, civilization and cultural assets for democracy and peace in the region.
The Moroccan diplomacy, the minister said, also aspires to making use of the Maghreb's regional potential to foster negotiating capacity with European partners.
