Syria celebrates Martyrs Day

Syria's Armed Forces of Army, Navy and Air Forces celebrated on Tuesday by the anniversary of the Martyrs Day.

Speeches delivered in mass rallies organized for this occasion, underlined that realizing just and comprehensive peace in the region must be on the basis of 'Madrid terms of reference' and 'land for peace principle.'

Speeches renewed Syria's firm and principled stances and her care on just and comprehensive peace for ending the Arab-Israeli struggle through the Israeli withdrawal from the occupied Arab lands and returning legitimate rights to their owners.

Speeches also touched upon the latest political developments in the region and pointed out the necessity for obliging Israel to respect international resolutions which assert Arab rights to the occupied Palestinian territories, Golan Heights and South Lebanon.

Speeches lauded sacrifices of martyrs and underlined that Martyrs Day will ever remain a torch that lights the routes for realizing just and comprehensive peace and for future freedom and independence.
