Arab tourism ministers council postponed
Regional-United Arab Emirates, Local, 5/6/2003
The sixth meeting of the Arab tourism ministers council, initially scheduled May 6-7 in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), will be held 28-29 of the same month in Sharm Al Sheikh (Egypt), the secretariat general of the Arab League said.
The move was decided after consultations between the UAE, Egypt and Jordan which ensures the revolving chairmanship of the Council. The UAE had abstained from hosting the meeting because of the situation in the Gulf after the Iraq War.
The session will be preceded May 25-27 by a meeting of the council's executive committee to set the agenda of the ministerial debate, to focus on cooperation and means to boost inter-Arab tourism and encourage foreign tourists to visit the region.
