Israel's population tolls 6.7 million

The central bureau for statistics in Israel said that Israel's population reached 6.7 million including 5.4 million Jews, an increase of 2% during the 12 past months.
Data issued few days before the 55th founding anniversary of Israel said that Israel's Jew population constitutes 38% of the number of Jews all over the world. It added that among the non Jewish population, numbering 1.3 million, the composition is 82% Muslims, 9% Christians and 9% Druze.
The bureau added that the number of those who immigrated to Israel since 1948 reached three million Jews, noting that only 31,000 immigrated during 2002, the lowest number in the last 13 years.
