Syrian, Lebanese Awqaf cooperation
Lebanon-Syria, Religion, 5/6/2003

Syria's Minister of Religious Endowments (Awqaf) Mohammed Zeada received on Monday Mufti of Lebanon, Mohammed Rasheed Qabani and an accompanying delegation.

Talks during the meeting dealt with the joint cooperation between the ministry and Dar al-Fatwa and means of developing them.

Zeada stressed that the latest developments in the Arab and international arenas demand more cooperation in all fields "in light of the dangerous Israeli escalation and brutal practices against the Palestinian people."

Zeada asserted the importance of consultation between religious men in Syria and Lebanon and developing the language of the religious oration.

For his part, Qabani underlined the Syrian-Lebanese tracks concomitance stressing the importance of the joint cooperation between Syrian Ministry of Religious Endowments and the Lebanese Dar al-Fatwa.
