Preparations for the fifth biannual Gulf summit

The secretary general of the member states of the Gulf Cooperation Council ( GCC) Abdul Rahman al-Ateyah said that contacts and consultations are being held to coordinate for the fifth biannual GCC summit which will be held in the second half of May in Saudi Arabia.
In a press statement issued yesterday in Kuwait, al-Ateyah said that this summit comes at a very important and critical phase in the history of the GCC, noting that the GCC agenda is not limited and will be open to discuss all issues debated on the regional arena especially the question of Iraq.
Al-Ateyah, on the other hand said that the ministerial council of the ministers of the interior of the GCC member states will discuss in their meeting to be held tomorrow ( Tuesday) in Doha, issues relating to security cooperation among their states, thanks to the importance of this topic on the stability of the security condition. A matter which will be positively reflected on the political and economic condition in the region.
