Bin Ali announces increase of wages in Tunisia

Tunisia's President Zine El Abidine Ben Ali has renewed the call on all social sides in Tunisia for more commitment to work, to exert efforts and improve productivity so as to boost sales of Tunisian products, supports economic competitiveness and enable it to penetrate foreign markets.
In a speech on Thursday on the occasion of the May Day, Ben Ali announced a decision providing for increasing wages for all Tunisian labor especially those of low wages working on peasantry and non peasantry sectors. The government will decide the amount of this increase following consultations with vocational organizations concerned.
