Mubarak stresses right of Iraqis to choose own government

Egypt's President Hosni Mubarak stressed on Wednesday the Iraqi people's right to choose their own government.

In an address on the occasion of the May Day, Mubarak warned over the Israeli brutal practices against the Palestinian people holding Israel the responsibility for deterioration in the region.

Mubarak stimulated on responding to the Arab peace initiative and the international resolutions that stipulate the complete withdrawal from all the occupied Arab land to the 4th line of June 1967 and restoring Palestinian rights and at the top of which establishing its independent state with Jerusalem as capital.

Mubarak asserted that in the light of international changes it is important to intensify Arab efforts and acting for establishing the Arab joint market as a core for Arab active economic cooperation.

Mubarak also called for making the Middle East a free zone from weapons of mass destruction through exerting international efforts to eliminate them pointing to the nuclear, chemical and biologic Israeli arsenal which constitutes a real danger for the region.

For his part, the Chairman of the Egyptian Labor Union for Labor Associations Sayed Rashed condemned the American-British occupation of Iraq calling for the immediate withdrawal of the occupation forces from Iraq and for enabling the Iraqi people to self-determination.

Rashed stressed the important role of the UN in maintaining the unity and sovereignty of the Iraqi territories calling all the Arab states to support the Iraqi people facing the current challenges.
