Libyan- Algerian economic cooperation

The assistant secretary for production affairs at the Libyan people's general committee, al-Baghdadi Ali al-Mahmoudi, and al-Hashimi Ja'boub, the Algerian minister of industry signed on Wednesday evening in Tripoli the Algerian- Libyan joint minutes of meeting on cooperation between the two states in various economic fields especially in the areas of mineral industries.
The Libyan official news agency said yesterday that the minutes of meeting stated cooperation in the fields of iron and steel industry through exchanging expertise and training and developing workers in this industry and carrying out technical and economic feasibility studies in the areas of manufacturing railways bars, and mineral containers.
The minutes of meetings also stated co-operation in the field of cement industry including investment in cement factories and the exchange of visits in the realm of engineering and chemical industries and leather and textile industries.
Meantime, the secretary of the Secretary General of the General Popular Committee of the African Unity in Libya Ali Abdul Salam al-Tureiki discussed with Jaboub means of developing and strengthening bilateral cooperation between Libya and Algeria in all fields. Jaboub also visited several Libyan factories.
