Syrian Turkish parliamentary talks

Speaker of People's Assembly, Naji Otri, received in Damascus yesterday the two members of the Turkish Nation's Council, Mohammed Basher Humaidi and Dia Eddine Akbolot accompanying Turkish Foreign Minister, Abdullah Gul.

Talks during the meeting dealt with bilateral relations between the two countries particularly concerning the parliament affair.

Otri stressed the importance of developing the relations between the two countries in order to enhance peace and stability in the region. He also stressed the importance of parliamentary relations between the two friendly neighbor countries referring that a parliamentary Syrian-Turkish association has been established to boost the parliamentary relations between the two countries.

For his part the Turkish delegation stressed his country's desire to develop the Syrian- Turkish relations in all levels and to exchange parliamentary visits between the two friendly countries.

The delegation also stressed the importance of cooperation between the neighboring countries for achieving peace and stability in the region.
