Syrian premier confers with Gul on economic relations

Syria's Prime Minister Muhammad Mustafa Miro received today Turkish Deputy Premier and Foreign Minister Abdullah Gul and an accompanying delegation.

Talks during the meeting dealt with the relations of cooperation between the two countries and ways of boosting them in fields of economy, industry, and culture.

Talks also dealt with enhancing the standing friendly and neighbor relations between them in order to preserve peace and security in the region.

They reviewed the current developments in the region including the situation in Iraq and Palestine.

Gul underlined the importance of Syria's role in the region stressing the necessity to resume the peace process with regard to the international legitimacy.

He also stressed the importance of the region's countries in rebuilding Iraq and preserving its stability and territorial integrity.
