Turkish business delegation to visit Morocco
Morocco-Turkey, Economics, 4/26/2003
A delegation comprising twenty-two Turkish businessmen will start Sunday a four-day visit to Morocco, announced on Thursday the Moroccan embassy in Ankara.
The visit aims to explore business opportunities with Moroccan economic operators and develop bilateral trade exchanges currently estimated at US 150$ million which is below the two countries potentials.
The Turkish private sector's interest in Morocco is continuously growing, said a Moroccan diplomat in Ankara, citing the Turkish construction and contracting Group "Dogus" which is currently in charge of the US 83$ million worth highway project connecting Sidi El Yamani (140 Km north of Rabat) and Tangier, and the "Calkon" group, specialized in the construction of electric grids, which has won a 62 million Euro bargain in Morocco.
The Turkish operators who represent several sectors will have a series of work sessions at the trade, industry and services chambers of Rabat and Casablanca, and meet with Moroccan entrepreneurs, particularly those operating in the realms of ceramics, agricultural equipment, tourism, construction and telecommunications.
