Cairo hosts a conference includes 70 Egyptian, Sudanese people's organizations

The Sudanese foreign minister Mustafa Othman Ismael has welcomed the efforts carried out by the Arab League at all levels in order to enhance pillars of peace and strengthen the option of unity in Sudan especially under this crucial condition the region is passing.
This was expressed during the meeting between the Sudanese foreign minister with Ijlal Rafaat, the advisor for the secretary general of the Arab League for Sudan's affairs in conclusion of her visit to Khartoum during which she had met with several Sudanese officials including the minister of humanitarian affairs in the Sudanese government.
On the other hand, Cairo will witness during the first week of May, the first conference for the organizations of the civil societies and people's organizations in Egypt and Sudan. This conference will be attended by 10 organizations belonging to public organizations for the liberation of Sudan, in a coalition which is the first of its kind including some 70 non- governmental organizations. This conference is expected to discuss developmental projects to be held following the signing of a final peace agreement between the Sudanese government and the rebels of southern Sudan.
Mustafa Othman Ismael said that the conference of the civil society organizations comes in implementation of the resolutions of the Arab organizations conference which was held in Khartoum, which called for supporting the option of unity. The conference which will be held in Cairo by the beginning of May is expected to discuss requirements of development, peace issues, the margined area and means of disseminating and enhancing the culture of peace in Sudan in the coming phase.
For her part, Rafaat has stressed the AL continued contacts with the Sudanese government and the rebels and mediators of the peace process with the aim of achieving peace, unity and stability in Sudan.
He said he will arrive to Rombik city in southern Sudan within the few coming days a delegation representing the Arab league to meet with representatives for the Sudanese opposition to consult on developmental efforts the AL intends to introduce in the service of the people of southern Sudan in support of Sudan's unity and peace, south and north, altogether.
This was expressed by the official spokesman for the AL, noting that this visit is the first to be held by AL general secretariat officials, officially to southern Sudan since the eruption of the civil war.
