Patriarch Lahham's messages to ambassadors accredited to Syria over US accusations

Patriarch of Antioch and all the East for the Roman Catholic, Gregorius Lahham III, has sent messages to more than 50 ambassadors accredited in Syria condemning the US. accusations against Syria as "having no basis in reality."
The patriarch indicated the important Syrian role in the region in preserving peace and security in the world and in fighting terrorism.
He expressed appreciation over the national unity, coexistence, and religious tolerance in Syria under the leadership of President Bashar al-Assad which is considered a symbol that can be followed.
The patriarch addressed the ambassadors saying that "Syria deserves to be respected and she is the best friend to your countries in defending democracy, equality, and dignity among the peoples of the world."
