Lebanon's defense minister refutes accusations against Syria

Lebanese Defense Minister Mahmoud Hammoud asserted yesterday that the U.S accusations against Syria are baseless. He wondered about the legitimacy of such accusations while, at the same time, U.S.A keeps a blind eye on the Israeli possession of weapons of mass destruction.

Earlier, Lebanese parties and national bodies in Ba'albek stressed their support to Syria confronting the U.S accusations against her. These parties clarified in a statement issued following a meeting that the U.S occupation in Iraq aims at plundering its resources and destructing its antiquities.
