Jordanian king meets with two members at the US congress

The Jordanian King Abdullah II has stressed upon meeting with two members at the US Congress visiting Jordan, the responsibility of the American and British forces to keeping security and unity of the Iraqi territories.

The Jordanian official news agency Petra said that the Jordanian King stressed during his meeting with the two congressmen on Friday the responsibility of the American and British forces to restore stability and security to Iraq and to maintain the unity of the Iraqi lands and the potentials of the Iraqi people." He stressed the need of the work to avail the Iraqi people to decide their future and chose their leadership by themselves. The Jordanian King said:" the key to peace and stability in the region is solving the Palestinian issue and Israel's withdrawal from the occupied Arab lands. He called for rapid execution o the Road Map which states the foundation of the Palestinian state by the fall of 2005.

The two members at the US congress arrived on Thursday in Amman in a two-day visit during which they will be meeting with senior Jordanian officials, according to a statement at the American embassy in Amman.
