Libya-Egypt, Economics, 4/18/2003
Libya's Leader of the Revolution Colonel Muammar al Qathafi received Egypt's Prime Minister Atef Ebeid during his two-day visit to the Libyan capital for talks on cooperation between the two states as well as political and economic fields.
Ebeid said that the visit comes within the framework of further integrity efforts in light of directives by President Hosni Mubarak and Qathafi.
He added that talks dealt with strategic and economic joint ventures in addition to signing of a number of agreements especially in services and productive fields. Ebeid said that Egypt has set up a company with the Libyan side to build a two-way pipeline between the two countries to carry oil and gas.
Egypt will carry natural gas to Libya to export it through this pipeline and receive Libyan oil to be refined in Alexandria refineries. Oil and gas will be sold at world prices.
