Powell intends to visit Syria

The US secretary of state Colin Powell has announced on Wednesday evening that he intends to visit Syria to hold talks with the Syrian officials on conditions in the region. But he did not set a date for this visit.
On the other hand, the Syrian ambassador to Washington Rostum al-Zoubi expressed his satisfactions over this news. In a statement to CNN, al-Zou'bi said it is good news and a step in the right direction because direct dialogue between us and the USA is better than directing accusations from afar.
