Continued Arab, foreign rejection of the American accusations against Syria

Egyptian President Political Advisor, Osama Al-Baz, has stressed that the US accusations against Syria aim at placing pressure on Syria, indicating that Israel is the main motivation for that.

Al-Baz renewed steadfastness of the Arab position regarding the Iraqi people's right to choose their government without any foreign interference.

He called on Israel to implement the international resolutions stipulating the full Israeli withdrawal from the occupied Arab territories to June 4 1967 line for reaching a just and comprehensive peace in the region.

Al-Baz also called on Israel to liquidate its military nuclear program stressing that the Israeli nuclear, biological and chemical arsenal threatens the region.

He stressed the necessity of activating the joint Arab action and coordination in the framework of the Arab League.

In Cairo, the Afro-Asian writers permanent bureau condemned the US accusations directed against Syria and called on the United States to stop the double standard policy in dealing with regional and international issues and to commit itself to the international legitimacy and law.

Iranian President, Mohamad Khatami has underlined the deep-rooted Syrian-Iranian relation. In an interview with Jordanian newspaper, Al-Doustour, Khatami condemned the US accusations against Syria.

Yemeni Foreign Minister, Abu baker al-Qurabi, during an interview with Lebanese newspaper, al-Mustakbal, underlined that these accusations are due to Syrian firm national stances defending the Arab causes and interests.

For his part, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council, Abdul Rahman Bin Hamad al-Ateyah affirmed Syria's main and central role in the region pointing out that states of the Council strongly reject the accusations against Syria.

Al-Ateiah, in an interview with Kuwaiti newspaper, Alrai al-'am, clarified that Syria is a member in the UN Security Council and she is careful on the Arab rank unity and that member countries of the Council are careful on Syria being an important part of the Pan-Arab security.

He stressed that threats and accusations language is baseless and unjustified and doesn't serve the international peace and security.
