Lahoud assigned Hariri once again to form government

The Lebanese prime minister Rafic Hariri has announced that the Lebanese President Emil Lahoud assigned him to form the new Lebanese government.
In a statement following his meeting with the Lebanese President yesterday, Hariri said that the outcome of the parliamentary consultations made by the president showed that 93 parliamentarians out of the 128 members of the Lebanese parliament supported re-assigning Hariri to form the government.
Hariri added he will start as from today ( Thursday ) consultations for forming the new government.
A decree was issued by the Lebanese presidency provided for assigning Hariri to form the new government. Al-Hariri had formed his previous government on October 26, 2000 and was composed of 30 ministers.
Yesterday evening, the Lebanese president concluded his parliamentary consultations to nominate a new prime minister for the Lebanese government in succession to the government of Hariri who submitted his government's resignation on Tuesday.
President Lahoud received speaker of the Lebanese parliament Nabih Berri who briefed him on the results of the parliamentary consultations concerning the new government.
