Canada announces 100 million in aid to Iraq

Canada has decided to extend a US$ 100-million humanitarian assistance to Iraq, announced in Rabat Monday Speaker of the Canadian House of Commons, Peter Milliken, currently on a visit to Morocco.
The Canadian official told MAP news agency at the end of a meeting with Prime Minister, Driss Jettou, his country will participate in the reconstruction of Iraq and will back any international initiative in this connection.
Milliken said his talks with Jettou covered issues of common concern as well as the reforms implemented by Morocco to consolidate democracy and representative institutions.
Milliken, who arrived Sunday in Morocco, already conferred with the Speakers of the two chambers of parliament and with the Justice Minister.
