Blair: Bashar al-Assad will prevent any Iraqi from entering Syria

The British prime minister Tony Blair announced yesterday that the Syrian President Bashar al-Assad stressed to him he "will prevent" any person coming from Iraq to enter Syria, stressing, on the other hand that that there are no plans to invade Syria.
Talking to the British House of Common, Blair said "I have talked to President Bashar al-Assad by the end of the week and the ( Syrians ) stressed to me they will prevent any person crossing the border from Iraq to Syria to get in." He added "I think this is what the Syrians are doing."
Blair stressed "there is no plan to invade Syria." On the other hand, Blair stressed on Monday in statements to the British House of commons that the war in Iraq has not ended yet and that there are difficult times that still wait for the American and British forces.
Blair said that despite the fall of the city of Takrit which was considered as the last edifice for the Saddam pro forces, "the war has not finished in Iraq and there are difficult times that still await us there." Blair explained that there will be more fighting, besides peace keeping operations.
Blair continued that thanks to the military intervention, Iraq has become better a better place to live in without President Saddam Hussein.
