Lebanese FM meets Libya's al-Tureiki; denouncement of US accusations

Lebanese Foreign Minister, Mahmoud Hammoud, reviewed in Beirut on Monday with Secretary General of the General Popular Committee of the African Unity in Libya Ali Abdul Salam al-Tureiki the situation in the region and in Iraq.

Hammoud condemned the US "baseless accusations against Syria" pointing out that these accusations indicate a critical stage.

Lebanese National Forces and Parties condemned the US increasing accusations against Syria.

Deputy Secretary General of Hizbullah, Sheikh Na'em Qassem, stressed that these accusations are baseless.

Chairman of the Parliamentarian Foreign Affairs in Lebanon, Ali Al-Khaleel, indicated to Syria's firm and national stances and her adherence to the international legitimacy resolutions stressing that the US accusations serve the Israeli interests not the US ones.

In Cairo, the Egyptian President Political Advisor, Osama Al-Baz strongly rejected the US accusations against Syria stressing that these accusations are baseless. Al-Baz stressed that the American direction to Syria is wrong and hurts the US itself.

For his part, Arab League Secretary General, Amr Moussa, condemned the US accusations against Syria and warned of the dangerous repercussions of these accusations on the region.

He stressed the Arab states rejection for these accusations expressing the league's deep concern over that.
