Fisheries office gets i-connection network with regional delegations
Morocco, Economics, 4/14/2003

Morocco's Fisheries office (ONP) recently had its main offices connected to its 17 regional delegations through a new information system dubbed MAIA.

The network enables remote management of fleet, fish species, buyers and transactions, director general of the office, Majid Kaissar El Ghaib, said on the sidelines of the 6th international sea fair, held in Casablanca April 10-13.

MAIA also provides instant statistics on yields and prices in markets across the country.

Besides the inter-connection of the country's markets, it is possible to include other countries', which would put international prices within the reach of Moroccan operators.
