Belgium rejects to close the Iraqi embassy in Brussels

Belgium has rejected an American request to close the Iraqi Embassy at Brussels and to oust its diplomats.
A Belgium Foreign Ministry spokesman stressed on Friday that his country has no reason for closing the Iraqi embassy according to the international laws and diplomatic charters stressing that the closing of the embassy is in Iraq's hand.
The spokesman said "We shouldn't think of closing the embassy or ousting its diplomats because the embassy represents an independent state not a specific regime."
It is worth mentioning that the American ambassador to Brussels asked the Belgium government to close the Iraqi Embassy and to oust its diplomats.
