Five Palestinians were killed, 23 wounded in confrontations with the Israeli army

Two Palestinians yesterday broke into an Israeli military base near Toubas town in the West Bank and killed two Israeli soldiers and wounded other 8 before they were killed during clashes with the Israeli soldiers.

The Israeli forces blocked the area completely and prevented Palestinians from the villages of Toubas and al-Yamoun from getting out of their houses, while Israeli armored forces started to mop up the area.

Two Palestinians were killed and other four were killed when the Israeli forced opened fire on a car they were riding in Toulkarem. The Israeli forces assassinated Muhammad al-Zalhama, one of the leaders of al-Quds group, the military wing of the Islamic Jihad movement when an Israeli helicopter bombarded his car in al-Sheikh Ridwan quarters in Gaza, and this resulted in killing him and wounding three of his escorts. The bombardment also resulted in wounding 12 Palestinians in the very populated quarters.

Moreover, four Palestinians were wounded when an Israeli tank opened fire on them in Rafah in Gaza. Thereby the number of Palestinians who were killed yesterday by the Israeli forced tolled to 5 and number of wounded to 23.

Yesterday, the Israeli occupation forces continued their oppressive and aggressive practices against the Palestinians and arrested 18 Palestinians during breaking in and inspection operations that targeted several areas in the West Bank. Most of the detainees are from Ramullah, Jenin, and al-Yamoun town near Jenin.

Palestinian sources said that the occupation forces besieged yesterday at dawn also al-Yamoun town in the West Bank and gathered the Palestinians at the school's courtyard and arrested 100 youths and took them to the jails. The Israeli forces also destroyed the house of the Palestinian citizen Abdullah Jamal al-Barghouthi who was arrested in Beit Reima village near Ramullah in the West Bank.

The Israeli forces also arrested in al-Nasera city of the territories of 1948, ten Palestinians for resisting the occupation and opening fire. The Israeli radio said that 120 Israeli soldiers broke into the city and arrested those Palestinians.
