Egypt-Sudan, Politics, 4/9/2003
Sudanese President's advisor for peace affairs Dr Ghazi Salaheldeen termed as positive step the current visit to Egypt by leader of the Sudan People's Liberation Movement (SPLM) John Garang and his talks with top Egyptian officials.
In statements on Monday, Salaheldeen said this step indicates that the movement is going to rearrange its regional relations.
Meantime, President Hosni Mubarak on Monday received John Garang, currently visiting Cairo for talks on the latest developments in southern Sudan.
The Mubarak-Garang meeting comes on the eve of the talks President Mubarak will hold in Cairo with Sudanese President Omar Al-Bashir. The meeting also came one day before a meeting Tuesday between President Mubarak and Sudanese President Omar A1-Bashir.
