Moroccan NGOs condemn war on Iraq
Morocco-Iraq, Politics, 4/8/2003
Moroccan political organizations, associations and unions condemned the US-British war on Iraq.
In a release made public on Monday by the Moroccan daily Attajdid, the Movement for unity and reform said this "barbarous war represents an aggression and a crime against humanity and all Moslems."
The Movement also hailed the Iraqi people's resistance to defend its life, religion, land and sovereignty.
The medical committee of support to Iraq also denounced the killings perpetrated against the Iraqi people in a release published by the Al Haraka daily, and called for the coordination of efforts of the health sector and professional initiatives.
The Action Group of Support to Iraq appealed to Moroccans to fast on Thursday and to recite verses of "Fatiha" on Friday for Iraqi martyrs.
The Group underlined that these forms of solidarity with Iraq are signs of protest against the "hideous crimes" perpetrated by the American administration and the British government against the Iraqi people.
The Moroccan Diplomatic Circle also denounced the tragedy that Iraq is going through and which "constitutes a violation of international law and peoples' will, expressed through demos around the world."
