Syrian Armed Forces celebrate Baath Party 56th founding anniversary

Syria's Armed Forces of Army, Navy and Air Forces celebrated on Monday by the 56th anniversary of the Ba'ath Arab Socialist Party establishment where mass rallies were organized.

Delivered speeches in the mass rallies renewed Syria's firm, principled and pioneer role in defense of the Arab causes and safeguarding their interests.

Speeches stressed Syria's opposition to the US-British aggressive war on Iraq pointing out to the aggression's dangerous repercussions on the Arab Nation.

Speeches also hailed the BASP "history of strife and its role in facing the colonial and Zionist schemes."

The Palestinian Liberation Army Chief of Staff, Gen. Mohammad Tarek Al-Khadraa', lauded Syria's national stances which express the will and consciousness of the whole Arab people and defend Arab just causes and rights.

Alkhadraa underlined the importance of Arab solidarity and stances unity for confronting the "Imperialism and Zionist maneuvers" and for the restoration of the occupied Arab territories in Golan, South Lebanon and Palestine stressing the Palestinian people's right to an independent state with Jerusalem as its capital.

He strongly condemned the US-British "unjustified war on Iraq and the Israeli escalation of brutal policy in the occupied Palestine."
